Brush Nickel Fixtures with Chrome Faucets?! Anyone else?!

I noticed that all the light fixtures are satin brushed nickel which is perfect. I also noticed all the faucets, towel bars and toilet paper holders are chrome or "silver" as the PM calls it. He said this is a common misled mistake that homeowners think they get everything satin brushed nickel. Anyone else's house have this same situation? It's not really a big deal but anyone with a sense of design knows they do not go together :-)

  1. It will be a welcome change from the chrome faucets and brass fixtures we have in our current home. I have no idea what the builder was thinking, especially since we purchased the model. Oh well, we plan to switch out many of the fixtures anyways.

  3. This was something I obsessed over for about 2 weeks. I knew I wanted oil rubbed bronze hardware on the kitchen cabinets, but didn't want to pay the upgrade for having all ORB plumbing fixtures. We ended up doing ORB light fixtures and door hardware, but brushed nickel faucets/bathroom fixtures.

We'll change out the kitchen and 1st floor powder room within the first year. The other bathrooms all have espresso cabinets with meteorite granite, so I actually prefer the brushed nickel faucets, so we will probably end up leaving those.

  5. We built our RH last year and got the same thing. Was not a really big deal to us so it does not bother us one bit. I'm not sure what style hardware they used in your area but after searching long & far for the exact same hardware since we wanted to add some addt'l towel racks I found out the ones used in our community is called Moen Mason. You can check to see if this matches your style. We were fine with these for now so ordered some extras online at HomeDepot and it cost less than 6.00 for all three pieces of HW for the towel rack. They have other pieces as well. Even in brushed nickel, rubbed bronze, etc.

  6. We are going to change out the powder room and that's about it. We found some nice stuff at Home Depot that wasn't to expensive. Not worth spending the money now on the other bathrooms. Most people probably won't even notice except for me!!

  7. Oh and Casey I love that meteorite granite! We didn't have that option here and it would of been perfect for us!

  8. Isn't there an option to upgrade to brushed nickel? We upgraded everything to oil rubbed bronze - except the kitchen sink & faucet, which they don't offer in ORB, or anything to compliment it. I'll live with it for a little while, then change it.
